Deloitte UK: application stages, tests and practice

Deloitte describes an online application, an Immersive Online Assessment (or One Stop for some roles), a job simulation, and a final stage with a topic discussion and a skills and motivation interview. Its Candidate Zone portal says it is powered by Cappfinity, who it calls its specialist assessment partner.

Routes: Early careers: Graduate, Industrial Placement, BrightStart and Entry Level Apprentice roles, plus work experience programmes. Spring Into Deloitte applicants stop after the job simulation. Summer Vacation Scheme applicants have a shorter final stage. Entry Level Apprentices skip the job simulation and take One Stop instead. Last verified 2026-10-09.

  • Official employer Stated on the employer's own page.
  • Near-official Near-official: an employer-run practice portal, or a vendor or employer-quoted press release naming the employer.

  2. Immersive Online Assessment (One Stop for some roles)

    Official employer

A behavioural assessment where you rank workplace actions by how likely you are to take them, plus questions on working style, and a cognitive assessment with numerical and verbal reasoning. The Candidate Zone describes three modules taken in any order after a welcome and integrity module: the behavioural module is untimed (about 35 minutes on average), and the numerical and verbal modules are 'time factored but not time limited' (about 12 minutes each on average). Accuracy and the time you take both count towards the score. Deloitte says the whole assessment typically takes about 65 minutes, with a maximum of 5 hours per assessment. Some questions may be timed. You receive a strengths feedback report.

Publisher: Cappfinity (named by the employer or an employer-run portal)

Practise: Cappfinity-style assessment practice, Numerical reasoning test practice, Verbal reasoning test practice, Situational judgement test practice

  3. Job simulation

    Official employer

One integrated behavioural assessment with ranking, selecting the most appropriate response or responses, written responses and recorded video responses. It is untimed overall, with set preparation and response times on video questions. The Candidate Zone gives about 45 to 60 minutes. Assessed video answers cannot be re-recorded, and you can practise your video setup first. Some scenarios mention workplace AI tools, but you do not need prior AI experience or to use an AI tool. A feedback report follows. Spring Into Deloitte applicants end here. Entry Level Apprentices take One Stop instead.

  4. Final stage assessment

Mandatory preparation on a topic you are assigned, then two exercises. Exercise 1 is a two-way discussion with an assessor about your preparation, typically 30 to 40 minutes. Exercise 2 is a skills and motivation interview, usually about 50 minutes. In person at the linked Deloitte office for Graduate, Entry Level Apprentice, Industrial Placement and BrightStart roles. Virtual for the Summer Vacation Scheme, which has only the skills and motivation interview. Feedback is given afterwards.

Retakes and validity

Deloitte accepts one application per intake or academic year (September to August). Assessed video responses cannot be re-recorded. The Candidate Zone sets a maximum of 5 hours per online assessment and may remove candidates who exceed it. No assessment re-sit or result validity period is stated.

What we could not verify

  • Number of items per module in the Immersive Online Assessment
  • Whether a game-based or Arctic Shores assessment is used for any roles (only prep sites say so)
  • Result validity or retake rules beyond one application per intake
  • Exact video answer and preparation times (stated inside the assessment only)
  • Separate process for insight or spring routes other than Spring Into Deloitte ending after the job simulation
