Companies with finance roles
Procter & Gamble (P&G) UK: application stages, tests and practice
P&G says its process runs from an online application to mandatory online assessments (the PEAK Performance Assessment and, depending on the role, an Interactive Assessment of cognitive ability) and then behavioural interviews with P&G people. For most roles the assessment results alone decide whether you move forward. If you do not pass an assessment you must wait 12 months to retake it. No test vendor is named on the pages read.
Stages in order
What do the confidence badges mean?
- Vendor-published Stated in the test publisher's own document or practice site.
- Academic From peer-reviewed research.
- Official employer Stated on the employer's own page.
- Near-official Near-official: an employer-run practice portal, or a vendor or employer-quoted press release naming the employer.
- Candidate-reported Reported by candidates. Treat as likely but unconfirmed.
- Third-party From prep sites, press or forums. Not confirmed by the employer or publisher.
Online application
Official employerAn online form on P&G's careers site: your education (school, subject and level), a CV upload (required) and a short questionnaire about the skills the role needs. The placement posting asks for evidence of achievements in academic or non-academic activities and says you will be asked to prove your right to work at the end of the process. You can apply to more than one role, each with its own application.
PEAK Performance Assessment
Official employerAn online questionnaire that P&G says looks at your background, experience, interests and work-related attitudes against P&G's competencies. It has four sections of multiple-choice and rating-scale items, with no right or wrong answers. Most people take about 20 minutes and it is not strictly timed. Once you submit a section you cannot go back to it. It is available 24/7, in over 20 languages, and you can resume from the emailed link if you are disconnected. P&G says it may later check your abilities under supervised conditions. No vendor is named on the pages read.
Practise: Personality questionnaire practice
Interactive Assessment
Official employerAn online test of cognitive ability, set depending on the role. P&G's guide describes three parts: filling gaps in equations using the numbers 1 to 9 once each (about 6 minutes), working out which branch of a tube reordered a set of symbols to test logical conclusions (about 6 minutes), and a fast-paced task where you remember where dots appeared while doing quick picture checks such as mirror images and rotations (about 12 minutes over three rounds). Most people need about 30 minutes in total and not everyone gets every part. You cannot go back to a question once answered. P&G recommends using a computer. Results and next steps are emailed, usually within 30 days. No vendor is named on the pages read.
Practise: Numerical reasoning test practice, Logical and inductive reasoning test practice
Interviews
Official employerBehavioural interviews with standardised questions about your past experience, for example 'Tell me about a time when you worked with others' or 'Give an example of a time when you created something new'. P&G asks you to give the context, the actions you took (and why) and the results in each answer, and says examples can come from any part of your life. Interviews are one-to-one or with a panel of two or three P&G people, by phone, video or in person, and usually last 45 to 60 minutes with time for your questions. There is no set number of rounds, and some roles add interview steps or assessments. P&G says you must answer without help from other people or from AI tools.
Practise: Daily interview question
Final stage line-up
No assessment centre is described on the P&G pages read. P&G's hiring FAQ says there is no set number of interview rounds and that some roles or functions may add interview steps or assessments. Job board reposts of a UK finance internship mention an in-person assessment day at P&G's Weybridge office, but that was not found on a P&G page.
Retakes and validity
P&G's assessments are mandatory. If you do not pass one, you must wait 12 months before retaking it. Results are valid for 12 months: a completed assessment cannot be changed or retaken in that time, and it carries over automatically if you apply for another role. You can apply for several roles, so P&G suggests applying thoughtfully. If you need an adjustment, request it and wait for a reply before starting the online assessment.
