Deutsche Bank: application stages, tests and practice
Deutsche Bank lists a short application form and CV, then online assessments that start with an eligibility screen and go on to a Situational Judgment Test, a Behavioral Questionnaire and a timed Ability Test. For some UK roles the next step is a pre-recorded video interview with two minutes to prepare and two minutes to answer each question, one attempt only. In most cases the next step is an in-person assessment day with competency assessments, case studies and a technical interview. No test vendor is named on the pages read.

Online application
Official employerA short application form with your CV attached. Check the eligibility criteria in each job description. Deutsche Bank asks you to research the division you want and apply to just one role in one country. Once submitted, the application cannot be updated, though you can replace your CV.
Online assessments (eligibility screen, then tests)
Official employerFor most roles the assessments start with an eligibility screen. If you pass, you are invited to a series of online tests, and you have 96 hours to complete each set. The FAQ, which has not been fully updated for the current cycle (its eligibility answer still refers to the 2026 Graduate Programme), lists a Situational Judgment Test, a Behavioral Questionnaire and an Ability Test, and says only the ability test is timed. The assessment site shows two task tiles; the first explains which assessments apply at each stage. Deutsche Bank advises doing the practice tests first and sends feedback reports with development tips. The type of ability test, item counts and time limits are not published on the pages read.
Practise: Situational judgement test practice, Personality questionnaire practice
Pre-recorded video interview (some UK roles)
Official employerFor some roles in the UK, Germany and APAC this is a pre-recorded video interview; elsewhere it may be a live virtual meeting. After you see each question you get two minutes to prepare and two minutes to record, with one attempt. The platform records you and lets you test it with an example question first. Deutsche Bank says to be ready to explain why you suit Deutsche Bank and why it suits you, how it differs from other firms, why your division, and why financial services. It strongly recommends not using AI tools. It takes about six weeks from application to the interview invitation. The number of questions is not published.
Practise: Video interview practice
Assessment centre or Super Day
Official employerIn most cases an in-person assessment day. Components vary by role, but Deutsche Bank says you can typically expect competency assessments, case studies and a technical interview, with details in the invitation email. You hear the outcome by phone within about a week, with feedback, and then have two weeks to decide on an offer.
Practise: Assessment centre practice, Case study exercise practice

Final stage line-up
Typically competency assessments, case studies and a technical interview, in person, with components varying by role. Lengths, the number of interviews and whether a group exercise is included are not published on the pages read.
Retakes and validity
No retake rule is stated for the tests. Deutsche Bank says that in most instances, if you are unsuccessful for one role, you cannot be considered for another in the same hiring year. If you exit the ability assessment more times than allowed, you contact Deutsche Bank and it investigates whether a reset can be provided.
What we could not verify
- The test vendor (prep sites name Cappfinity or SHL; no Deutsche Bank page read names a vendor)
- The type of ability test (numerical, verbal, logical or other), item counts and time limits
- The number of video interview questions
- Which UK programmes use the pre-recorded video interview and which use a live virtual interview
- Assessment day lengths, the number of interviews, and whether a group exercise or presentation is included
- Whether Spring or insight programme applicants go through the same stages
- Whether the FAQ's list of online tests and its video interview settings are current for the 2027 cycle (the FAQ's eligibility answer still refers to the 2026 Graduate Programme)
