Rothschild & Co: application stages, tests and practice

Rothschild & Co says you apply online, may be asked to complete an untimed online assessment, then have a first-round interview online or in person, then an assessment centre with a further interview with senior colleagues, a collaborative group exercise and a case study.

Routes: Rothschild & Co's global student pages for Graduates, Internships and Early Insights, across Asset Management, Five Arrows, Global Advisory, Rothschild & Co Redburn, Support and Wealth Management. The same process text appears on all three pages. The graduate page says the whole graduate intake is brought together in London before joining teams, and that graduates start with a four-week Global Graduate Training Programme. The pages are not specific to London, so local differences are not confirmed. Last verified 2026-10-22.

  1. Online application

    Official employer

Apply online through the firm's search opportunities page. You can submit up to seven applications globally per recruitment cycle; duplicate profiles are not considered. The firm suggests a one-page CV and may ask for a cover letter, for example for work experience programmes. You cannot edit your CV or cover letter after you submit.

  2. Online assessment (where required)

    Official employer

The FAQ says that if an assessment is part of the application, you must complete it for the application to be considered. The link can take up to three working days to arrive. The assessment is not timed, so extra time is not needed, and deadlines are not extended. Google Chrome is recommended. AI tools must not be used during online assessments or interviews unless you are told otherwise. The content, length and provider are not published on the pages read.

Retakes and validity

If you have already completed an online assessment for a previous application in the same year, you do not need to take another one, unless told otherwise. Up to seven applications globally per recruitment cycle. Assessment deadlines are not extended. No re-sit rule is stated.

What we could not verify

  • What the online assessment contains, how long it takes, who provides it and which programmes require it.
  • Length of the first-round interview and of each assessment centre activity.
  • Whether the assessment centre is virtual or in person, and the case study format.
  • London or UK-specific differences, since the pages are global.

The firm's own page (the source cited by the Kvanta Rothschild interview bank). Supports the application, first-round interview (online or in person) and assessment centre content, the seven attributes it looks for, CV and interview advice, and the London start for the graduate intake. It does not mention an online test.
  2. Rothschild & Co, Internships Checked 2026-10-22
The firm's own page. Repeats the same application, first-round interview and assessment centre text for internships.
  3. Rothschild & Co, Early Insights Checked 2026-10-22
The firm's own page. Says cover letters may be asked for, for example for work experience programmes, and that Insight Week programmes include an interview process and repeats the same stage text (the page lists the assessment centre step above the first-round step, but the wording 'if successful' places it second).
  4. Rothschild & Co, Students and graduates FAQs Checked 2026-10-22
The firm's own FAQ. Supports the seven-application limit, the untimed online assessment, the three working days for the link, no extensions, reuse of assessment results in the same year, adjustments and the AI rules.
